With the Edinburgh Festival finished, the city is beginning to get a little quieter. That’s not to say there’s still not plenty of exciting events happening this Autumn. Here’s our pick of the top 5 food festivals coming to the Capital in the upcoming months…

Harvest Festival

The Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh’s Harvest Festival is a celebration of the vegetable growing year. Join them for fun activities, gardening advice, information about harvesting and cooking and storing crops. Be inspired to get growing with the Community Garden produce show and discover the delights of growing your own vegetables with the Edible Gardening Project team.

Sausage and Cider Festival

This UK wide festival arrives for the first time in Edinburgh at the Corn Exchange. You can expect live bands, DJs, Gin and Prosecco bars, eating contests and of course a great array of sausages and cider from around the world!

CheeseFest

The UK’s first and only touring cheese festival will be coming to the Royal Highland Centre this November. This year they are celebrating the 30th Anniversary of Wallace & Gromit with over 140 Different Types of Artisan Cheese. The event is usually a sell-out and includes a meet & greet with Wallace and Gromit, model making with Aardman Animations, Wallace & Gromit life size vehicles, live cooking demonstrations, street food stalls and much more.

Edinburgh Vegan Festival

This years vegan festival at Murrayfield stadium will give guests the chance to enjoy free samples, food tasting and discounts from vegan food stalls, which include the likes of plant-based chocolate, cheese, cakes and takeaway food. There will also be vegan clothing stalls to browse, along with talks and demos from guest speakers and businesses.

Foodies Festival Christmas

Foodies Festival Christmas, kicks off the festive season at the EICC over three jam packed days in November. Top chefs will be cooking up their festive favourites in the Chef’s Theatre, you can get merry with your favourite Christmas tipple in the Drinks Theatre, taste flavours of the world at Street Food Avenue or browse for Christmas gifts in the artisan market.
